‘Invocations’, Op.35 (Rawsthorne was the dedicatee) was specifically written for him to showcase the new organ at the Met, with it’s unique ‘Orchestral Trumpet' stop, a marvelous chamade with brass bells attached to the resonators, just like the real instrument. (D. Briggs says)
